On this tour of Montreal's downtown, we will explore what used to be the Red Light’s district. I'm inviting you to revisit the naughty part of our city’s history. We will look into the crimes scene and the sex work of Montreal from the 1920’s to the 1950’s. The short itinerary will make us pass thru the entertainment’s district of Montreal, mainly on St-Laurent street and Ste-Catherine street. We will discuss about the impact of the prohibition on our city that led Montreal to be known as the Sin City of the North or the Paris of North America. Among different adult subjects, we will discuss about the drug trade, the gambling industry, sex work, brothel activities and the famous criminals of Montreal. We will also talk about the different morality squads that fought crimes and corruptions that led to the late closing of the Red Light district. We will also observe the transformation that occurred in the entertainment’s district, a still vibrant part of our beloved city.
