At the very top sits the mausoleum of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, our beloved poet, philosopher, and ruler. After the fresh mountain air, we’ll take you to the village of Njeguši—small, peaceful, and full of flavor. This is where Montenegrins have been making traditional prosciutto, cheese, and honey rakija for generations. We’ll stop at a family-run place where you can taste the real deal: smoked ham slow-cured in mountain air, local cheese, homemade bread, and a sip (or two) of rakija to warm your heart. It’s not just a tasting—it’s a chance to slow down, connect, and experience a piece of everyday life here. Locals always say: you haven’t really been to Montenegro until you’ve eaten in Njeguši—and we couldn’t agree more.
