Itinerary

Join our Mexico Monarch Butterfly! One of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the world. Our adventure begins in the captivating Valley of Mexico, where we will set out for Sierra Chincua, one of the official Monarch Butterfly Sanctuaries in Michoacán. The sanctuary hosts one of nature’s greatest spectacles from November to March—the incredible Monarch Butterfly migration.

Upon reaching Sierra Chincua, you can take a leisurely walk or, for those seeking a bit more adventure, a horseback ride (optional, at your own cost) through the stunning landscape. The journey will take you deep into the heart of the butterfly colony, where you’ll be surrounded by thousands of Monarch Butterflies, fluttering in the air and resting on the towering pine trees.

After experiencing the Magical Butterfly Migration, we’ll continue our journey to Tlalpujahua de Rayón, a charming “Magic Town” nestled in the heart of Michoacán. This town is known for its rich history, particularly its mining heritage, and is famous for its festive Christmas spirit year-round. Tlalpujahua is home to skilled local artisans who specialize in creating intricate blown-glass Christmas baubles, a tradition passed down for generations.

Tlalpujahua also boasts a well-preserved historical center, and one of its most iconic landmarks is the Nuestra Señora del Carmen Church, a stunning example of 18th-century Baroque architecture. As you explore the town, your guide will share stories of its mining past, including its gold and silver mining history, which shaped much of its development.

As we head back to Mexico City, indulge in some of the delicious Michoacán cuisine to tantalize your taste buds. On the return journey, savor local treats such as corundas (Michoacán’s version of tamales), uchepos (sweet corn dough), and carnitas (tender, slow-cooked pork), among other traditional dishes.
