We begin with an ascent into the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera, following the Argar route of the Camino de Santiago for a little way. Then we walk along a scenic ridge that offers sweeping views of the of the mountains, the beaches below, Mojácar Playa and the port of Garrucha in the distance. At the end of the ridge, we reach a high viewpoint from which we begin our descent down a fairly steep path.

The path winds down to a larger track, which takes us down to the first beach. We then proceed to the second wild beach. Weather and mood permitting, we can stop for a refreshing dip at one of the two beaches along the way.

Then we begin the final leg of the route, heading up a winding dry river valley, which takes us back to our starting point.

This route requires a certain degree of fitness and confidence with hill walking, as it is about 8 km long, takes about 2.5-3 hours and involves an ascent of about 250m.
