What you can expect

SIGHTSEEING TOUR IN SPANISH.
On this full-day excursion, we'll depart at 9 a.m. from Pamplona to visit 4 historic sites in Navarre:

  • Olite and its Royal Palace
  • Ujué and its Fortress-Church
  • Castillo de Javier
  • Leire Monastery (where we will enjoy the monks' singing at the end of the sightseeing tour).

At our first stop, we'll enjoy the Royal Palace of Olite, both outside and inside, on a guided visit where we'll explain all the ins and outs of the place so that you can understand its importance and majesty.

The next stop is Ujué. A small town that is increasingly known for its spectacular fortress-church and the views from it. We'll visit and explain the strategic importance of this place, before going to lunch at a local restaurant, where you can taste the famous “Migas de Ujué”.

After lunch, we'll travel to Castillo de Javier to see and visit the birthplace of the patron saint of Navarre. San Francisco Javier. We will tell you about his exciting life while visiting the Castle where he was born and learn about its strategic position. Of course, we will talk about the popular Javieradas and other aspects of the place.

Finally, the most historic place in Navarre, the royal pantheon of the Kingdom of Navarre: the Monastery of Leyre. At this monastery, we'll visit its Romanesque crypt, a place that leaves us speechless every time we visit it. We'll explain the importance of the building, its “magic”, and its significance in the origins of the Kingdom of Navarre. And to round off the day, you'll have the opportunity to listen to the monks singing before returning to Pamplona, where we'll arrive around 8 PM after a day that will take us back in time.

An essential excursion to learn about the history of Navarre.
