What you can expect

Discover Comuna 13 on a complete tour of approximately 4 hours that combines public transportation, history, culture, and local cuisine. The sightseeing tour begins at a Metro station in Medellin (the most convenient one will be confirmed based on the group's location). From there, you'll take the Metrocable to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and see part of its urban transformation from above.

We'll then travel by coach to the tourist area of Comuna 13, where we'll begin the walking tour through its streets full of color and street art. During the walk, you'll learn about the historical context of the neighborhood, its past marked by conflict and war, and how its transformation through art, music, and community projects has made it a symbol of resilience.

You'll explore iconic murals and graffiti while discovering the meaning behind each work and the history they represent. You'll also experience one of the most special moments of the tour with a live freestyle rap show, where local artists use improvisation to convey the cultural essence and energy of hip-hop that today defines the identity and transformation of the sector.

On the tour, you will attend a dance show presentation, where you will actively participate in the entertainment and the activity (participation is optional) with dancers from the sector.

During the experience, you'll pause to enjoy a typical Colombian food tasting, supporting local entrepreneurs and connecting with traditional flavors such as a delicious empanada Paisa or a stuffed buñuelo. You'll also have a beverage (beer, water, soft drink) or a fruit popsicle of your choice. The exclusive flavor of Comuna 13 is Maracu-mango, which fuses mango and passion fruit.

As part of the sightseeing tour, you'll also get an introduction to the world of Colombian emeralds, where experts will share the origin, cultural importance, and value of one of Colombia's most representative jewels, adding a unique essence to the experience of this tour.

At the end, with a view of the entire area from a vantage point, you'll return with the group to the Metro station where the sightseeing tour started, so that you can continue your day with complete peace of mind.

A complete experience to understand the history, culture and transformation of a neighborhood that went from being one of the most dangerous in the world to becoming an emblem of Medellín, while enjoying authentic and unique elements during this tour.
