What you can expect
Begin your adventure with a warm welcome at the embarkation point. Once everyone is aboard the comfortable speedboat, the captain will start with a briefing but important safety orientation. You'll be guided on life jacket use, onboard safety measures, and the day’s itinerary, ensuring everyone feels secure and informed before setting off. Then, cruise across the turquoise lagoon of the east coast. Feel the sea breeze, take in the stunning scenery, and enjoy the clear waters as you head to your first stop.
Start your journey by cruising gently through the mangrove-lined coastal waterways. Your guide will explain their vital role in the ecosystem, protecting shorelines and serving as nurseries for marine life. These calm green serene views and excellent photo opportunities.
Continue upriver to one of the few waterfalls in Mauritius accessible by boat, the Grand River South East Waterfall. Watch as fresh water cascades over basalt rocks into the sea, a refreshing sight contrasting beautifully with the ocean. Along the lush riverside, keep an eye out for monkeys climbing and playing among the trees, plus glimpses of Mauritius’ rich wildlife.
Heading out to sea, look for dolphins often seen leaping playfully through the waves on your way to the first island. These magical encounters add a special touch to your adventure.
Your first stop is Île aux Phare, one of Mauritius’ oldest islets. Admire the 19th-century lighthouse perched on volcanic rocks with waves crashing below. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and unforgettable photo moments.
Next, pass by Île de la Passe, a small island rich in history. Discover remnants of forts from colonial naval battles while your guide shares fascinating stories of Mauritius’ maritime past.
Pass by Île aux Flamant, a tranquil, shallow island. Though flamingos rarely visit now, the island holds a peaceful charm.
Prepare for an exciting snorkeling session in crystal-clear waters. Swim among vibrant coral reefs and tropical fish, and perhaps spot a sea turtle. All gear is provided, and your guide ensures your safety.
Île aux Aigrettes, a protected nature reserve renowned for rare species like the Aldabra giant tortoise and endangered pink pigeon. Though you won’t disembark, enjoy a chill moment on a nearby beach with music, snacks, and drinks as your guide shares insights about this sanctuary.
On the way to the lunch spot next to Île aux Cerfs, enjoy a delicious BBQ on the beach featuring grilled: chicken, fish, chicken sausages, fresh salads, flambéed bananas & local drinks, a true island feast.
Finally, relax and explore Île aux Cerfs, famous for it's powdery white beaches and a stunning lagoon. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or simply soaking up the island’s vibrant atmosphere.
