You'll have easier and harder challenges along the way, all the satisfaction of cracking each clue, and the reward of great food waiting when you get there. Food Escapes was built by locals for locals, to explore and eat in their own city in a way they never otherwise would have seen, but is ideal for any visitors to the city who are food lovers too who want something more memorable than another table booking or generic activity.

With eight themed Food Escapes now live in Manchester, each one has its own flavour, mood and route, so guests can come back for something completely different every time.

Activity itinerary

Food Escapes are puzzle-led food games where you solve clues sent by WhatsApp, with answers hidden in the streets, buildings and details around you. Solve each puzzle correctly and you’ll be guided through the city to three independent restaurants, with food included at every stop. On the Dumpling Trail experience, you’ll visit three independent Manchester dumpling spots. Expect bold flavours, authentic fillings, steaming baskets and places chosen for character over convenience. But the food is all secret until you discover it! Between food stops you’ll be solving the next clue and racing the clock for a place on the leaderboard. The timer pauses while you eat, so you can relax, enjoy the food and continue when you’re ready. If you get stuck, you can ask for hints or answers in WhatsApp, though these add time penalties to your score. Just arrive hungry(!) follow the clues, unlock each food stop and discover Manchester through food, puzzles and the city around you. Going with kids? The quantity of food served will leave adults full. For young children, it's too much. You are welcome to buy 1 ticket for 2 children and have them share making it half price for younger kids.
