For approximately two hours, you'll enjoy a tasting where you'll sample 4 styles of Spanish artisan beers, each carefully paired with a selection of cheeses from around the world chosen for their contrasts and harmonies.
The experience goes far beyond eating and drinking. We'll start by exploring the history of beer and its evolution up to the current craft beer scene in Spain. You'll learn about its main ingredients — water, malt, hops, and yeast — and taste eight real ingredients to understand how they influence the aroma, flavor, body, and finish of each beer.
You will learn how beer is made, from the selection of raw materials to fermentation and maturation, and you will discover how to serve it correctly to enhance its qualities. I'll also teach you how to taste it step by step, which senses are involved in the experience, and how we identify basic tastes and actually perceive a flavor in the mouth.
Each of the 4 Spanish craft beers will be paired with a different cheese, carefully selected to show how carbonation, bitterness, texture, or intensity can completely transform the perception of the cheese. You'll understand why beer can be even more versatile than any other drink when it comes to pairing.
