Start your West Island Tour with hotel pick-up between 8:00 and 9:00. Your first stop will be at the famous fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, where the famous Sir Winston Churchill spent his days painting when he visited the island of Madeira. Continue to Cabo Girão to view the highest sea cliff in Europe.
The tour's next stop is at Ribeira Brava, visit to the church, famous for our queijadas (cheese cake), Empenadas - with filling of Cheese Ham, Meat or Chicken, the market is also very famous for its amazing dried fruits, vegetables and fruits. The drive through Ponta do Sol - know for its many bananas plantations due to the warm sun all year round, many eucalyptus trees will take to the flatest part of the island. Along this route you will see some cows walking freely, grazing, walking on the road.
Next enjoy a scenic drive through the Laurissilva Forest up to the plateau of Pául da Serra. Stop for a short, flat, easy walk along our mystical forest Fanal with the old Laurel trees especially the stinking Laurel. The tour proceeds to the northwest side of the island drive through Ribeira Janela (window rock) and the formation of the old man of the sea. This village was known years ago for the hunting of the whales, which is no longer allowed in this island. Driving down to you can see the new zipline where brave people slide down and swing in the skyswing of Madeira.
Porto Moniz, famous for its volcanic rock pools, beautiful place to swim in the natural pools, when weather permits the stop will be of two hours in the summer and winter one and half hours because the pools are closed due the rough sea and amazing wave attractions. Great place to have lunch simply take pictures of this amazing picturesque village. Continue down the scenic coastal route to Seixal to see the waterfalls, vineyards and take pictures also known as the Hawaii of Europe due to the mountainous landscape and high waves that attracts many surfer . São Vicente will be the last stop to visit the chapel and for those that wish to try the madeira wine free the guide will show you the place.
The drive will continue through the northcoast, then in the south where the weather changes and can be unpredictable the four seasons in one day.
