The journey to Fanal via the north side of the island takes about two hours, as we'll make a few stops along the way.
We'll stop in Seixal and Ribeira da Janela to visit these magnificent places on the island's north coast. Then we'll do the secret hike away from the crowds in Fanal, where we'll see the centuries-old trees known as tis (Ocotea foetens). Finally, we'll finish the hike at the famous tourist spot of Fanal.
The hike through the secrets of Fanal is about 7 kilometers long and is easy, with a route that is practically flat for about 90% of the way. We'll finish in the famous tourist area of Fanal. The hike takes about 3 hours and gives you the chance to learn about the fauna, flora, history and much more.
The return journey to your hotel via the west side of the island takes about an hour.
