At 3:00 a.m. we will pick you up from your hotel in Puno and begin this excursion to the Gothic City of Macusani. We assure you that getting up early will be worth it!
We will travel for three and a half hours until we reach one of the highest points on the road, the Abra Oquepu ño. Located more than 4,500 meters above sea level, from there we will enjoy impressive views of the nature of the Macusani Valley. Additionally, taking advantage of this stop, we will make a small traditional offering to Pachamama.
We will continue traveling to the town of Macusani, where we will gain strength with breakfast. Once our batteries are charged, we will visit the Kallahuaya Local Museum to learn everything about the different cultures of the region.
Before leaving Macusani, we will pass through the main square and see the monument to Saint Martin. We will reveal its history and importance for the municipality! Afterwards, we will head to Gotham City, which is located 4,815 meters above sea level.
Once there, we will take a two-hour walk to discover all the attractions of this peculiar stone forest formed by imposing rocks that have been eroded by the action of the wind. Some look like temples and even castles!
In this surprising place we will satisfy our appetite with a picnic lunch. Afterwards, we will walk back to the starting point and, to complete the day, we will take you to the thermal baths of the enchanted lagoon. If you want, you can enjoy a relaxing bath.
We will end the excursion to the Gotham City of Macusani at your hotel in Puno between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
