Early departure from your hotel, transport by car to the village of Ambatozavavy. There begins the real adventure: a crossing in a traditional paddle canoe towards Ampasipohy along the mangrove in a silence inhabited only by birds.
At the edge of the forest, your live guide – a biologist with thirty years of experience in the field in Madagascar – leads the group. Lokobe is the last primary forest on Nosy Be, a sanctuary where about 80% of the animal and plant species exist nowhere else on the planet. Under his guidance, the forest ceases to be a backdrop and becomes a text that you learn to read. A rustle in the foliage reveals a group of black lemurs. On a branch, motionless, a chameleon slowly changes color. At the foot of a century-old tree, a Brookesia – one of the world's smallest reptiles – fits in the palm of a hand.
Each observation is accompanied by an explanation that connects the animal to its ecosystem, the plant to its role in the food chain, and the forest to the geological history of the island. This is not a tour — it is a reading of the living world.
Around noon, the group returns to the village for a lunch prepared with zero-mile ingredients by the local community: grilled fish or chicken, fragrant rice, and tropical fruits. A simple and authentic moment, which is part of the overall concept — supporting those who live with the forest and protect it.
The afternoon still leaves time for a final immersion before the drop-off by canoe. Drop-off by car at the hotel, with an expected arrival time of around 5:30 PM.
