Takuapa Old Town is known for its charming blend of Thai and Sino-Portuguese architecture, bustling markets, and traditional way of life. This private tour gives you the opportunity to experience the town’s unique character, interact with locals, and explore its hidden gems with a knowledgeable guide who will share fascinating stories about the town's past and present.

Following an early morning pick up from your Khao Lak resort, travel the short distance to Takuapa Old Town. Stop at a Fresh Market to buy some offerings to give to the monks and see the people going about their early morning activities.

After giving to the monks, taste some Tim Sum as a light breakfast snack. Visit a local school to be delighted by the lovely children and stop in at the local “Moon Cake” bakery. (The Moon Cake is a Chinese bakery product and has a tradition dating back centuries).
Walk and see the architecture of old town, shops, foods, and learn about the local history. During this time, visit a Thai Buddhist and a Chinese temple.

Have a chat with a monk, and after the light lunch, you will visit various places where the 2004 tsunami disaster is remembered and respect is made to those who lost their lives, including at the Saori Foundation, a women's workshop which develops its own textile designs after a Japanese monk showed tsunami survivors how to weave and earn a living.

You will be taken back to your resort in Khao Lak by about 1.30pm-2.00pm
