Follow Charles de Gaulle’s childhood footsteps through Lille, the city of his family roots and happiest memories. This guided walk blends history and anecdotes, revealing how faith, family life, and the spirit of the North shaped the future General.

From the former Tobacco Factory, where his family history began, to Notre-Dame de la Sagesse, where discipline met early creativity, the city reveals its influence.
Along the rising Notre-Dame de la Treille, faith took form, while Méert offered childhood sweetness. The Place du Général De Gaulle celebrates his legacy. Family stories unfold at the Maison des Delannoy and the Maison des Maillot. Ramponneau and Napoléon bridges open onto fairs and military dreams, and Saint Andrew’s anchors faith and family life.

The tour ends at his birthplace, the Maison Natale, the heart of his Lille story, that you can tour on your own after the tour.
