Mount Emei is located within the territory of Emeishan City, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. Approximately 160 kilometers away from Chengdu City. Begin your journey at the foot of Mount Emei, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Baoguo Temple, the starting point of Buddhism on the mountain. Stroll through the temple corridors, admire the Ming Dynasty bronze Huayan Pagoda, and immerse yourself in the ancient cultural heritage of Mount Emei.

Next, take a scenic bus ride to Wuxiangang and step into the heart of Mount Emei’s natural beauty. Walk along the mountain’s trails, passing by the Qingyin Pavilion, one of the ten scenic spots of Mount Emei. Marvel at the two ancient stone bridges standing over the rushing streams of Bailongjiang and Heilongjiang.

Continue along the wooden plank path suspended over the gorge, reaching Yixiantian, where towering cliffs close in, leaving only a narrow strip of sky above. Vines hang down the cliff walls, and streams wind through the rocks below, creating a natural ink painting landscape.

Proceed to the ecological monkey area, a highlight for international visitors. Observe groups of wild Tibetan macaques living freely in the forest. Some rest lazily on wooden railings, while others leap and chase among the branches. Under the guidance of park staff, maintain a safe distance to watch the monkeys’ antics and experience the unique primate ecology of Mount Emei up close.

Climb the stone steps up the mountain, passing ancient temples like Hongchunping and Xianfeng Temple. Along the way, enjoy the layered original forests and taste authentic vegetarian meals at the mountain temples

At dawn, start from Leidongping and hike to Jieyin Hall, then take the cable car to the Golden Summit at an altitude of 3,099 meters. As you step out of the cable car, be greeted by the 48-meter-high pure copper gilded statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva standing on the mountain top. Witness the breathtaking sunrise as the golden-red light spreads across the sea of clouds.

In the morning and afternoon, if you’re lucky, encounter the rare Buddha’s light, a circular rainbow halo surrounding your shadow on the clouds, a unique natural optical phenomenon of Mount Emei. In your free time, stroll along the Golden Summit trails, gaze at the distant snow-capped mountains, and return in the evening with the mountain breeze.
