A customized guided tour, conducted in French by a guide-lecturer, of a city with a history full of twists and turns! The tour takes you past the city’s ancient fortifications, its windmills, its hofjes (traditional almshouses), and other, more hidden spots, to explore the great—and sometimes heroic—moments in the history of a city where science and faith have coexisted peacefully for a long time.
A walk filled with stories, many of which are depicted by local son Rembrandt van Rijn, whose works tell the story of Leiden, Holland, and the Netherlands.
The tour starts in front of one of the old city gates, the Morspoort.
After two hours of exploration, we will return to the same spot to complete the tour!
