What you can expect

  • Folklore, legends, and mysteries are a reality in a city as enigmatic as Cuenca…

We will start at the Fuente del Pilón fountain in Plaza Mayor.

From there, we will descend to the Pasadizo de las Ánimas (Passage of the Souls), where the first legend awaits us: the ghosts of San Miguel.

Indeed, the tour will continue through the San Miguel neighborhood until we reach the church of the same name, where we will learn how, according to legend, the conquest of Cuenca came about.

Later, we will travel to the Hermitage of Las Angustias to learn more about Cuenca's most famous legend, which would inspire Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer to create a legend based on a disturbing true story.

We will then climb back up the same way we came down and, from Plaza de San Nicolás, learn about the saint's miracles and the legend of the Eyes of the Moorish Woman.

Later, we will cross over to the Huécar River gorge and learn about a beautiful love story, the sad outcome of which was witnessed by a Christ figure. We will then conclude our tour in Plaza de Mangana, in the heart of the city, between the two gorges, where we will enjoy one of the most beautiful views that Cuenca has to offer and try to solve the mystery of the final legend, that of the witches of Mangana, the most terrifying witch legend in the entire city.
