What you can expect
This is THE walk for those people who have always wanted to walk along enough medieval streets to make up a whole medieval village. Maybe your interest in old timbered buildings was awakened by Tolkien or Harry Potter? Every street leads to the Market Square and every street has timbered houses along the route. It is one of those places that you visit once and then fall in love with. Even on the bleakest of days there are people looking around the streets. Having been brought up in the area I have collected various stories about these buildings. Here I share such stories in an audio tour. This is a tour where the Tudor wool traders start to be more than words in a book. The Dukes of Oxford (the De Vere family) and the wealthiest commoners in England rubbed shoulders in these street 900 years ago. We seek out the clues that they left behind over the centuries to get a glimpse into their lives.
