Just 10 minutes from downtown Las Palmas, Playa de La Laja is a little-known spot, perfect for surfing in peace and quiet. Its volcanic sand seabed, consistent waves, and laid-back atmosphere make this the perfect spot both for a first lesson and for perfecting your surfing.
Our experience begins with a welcome, where you'll meet your instructor and the group. Then we'll do a physical warm-up and a technical briefing on the sand about safety, posture, paddling, and basic technique. Then it's time to get in the water! Our certified instructors will be with you at all times, helping you step by step.
Our approach is 100% hands-on. We want you to be able to stand up, keep your balance, and enjoy the feeling of surfing your first wave. And if you already have experience, we'll work with you on more technical aspects such as turns, timing, and reading the sea so that you can take your surfing to the next level.
We work with small groups to provide personalized instruction tailored to each level. We use the exclusive Wavelovers Method, which combines biomechanics, pedagogy, and learning psychology to teach you how to surf in a progressive, safe, and fun way.
