The best spots are wherever you see rocks: the far side of Playa Dantita, the reef in between Danta and Dantita, along the shore of Punta Penca, and at the Islotes Pitahayas (small islands) just offshore. You’ll find lots of reef fish, big spotted eagle rays, sea turtles, coral, and interesting underwater topography.

Deep in the shade of this quiet valleys, like a scene straight out of the movie Jurassic Park, you can marvel at the flora and fauna around you. Likely wildlife sightings include monkeys, coatis (relatives of the raccoon), deer, peccaries (wild hogs), and a variety of exotic birds.

Mangrove Explorer
Las Baulas National Marine Park has two mangrove estuaries, including Estero de Tamarindo, the biggest mangrove estuary in Latin America.
Take a small boat upstream into the mangroves and canals of Las Baulas National Marine Park. Mangrove forests are some of the most important coastal ecosystems. Among other roles, they serve as natural nurseries and protected areas for marine life, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, and other creatures. The trip lasts approximately 3 hours. The time of departure depends on the tide.
