Overview

After Reservation, the tour starts at the rental point with the collection of e-bikes and the activation of virtual navigation, which accompanies along the way.

The loop route measures about 60.7 km and has 159 m of positive elevation gain. The level is average especially for the length and variety of the bottom, while the Listing remains almost always flat. The track alternates between paved roads, singletracks, paths, secondary roads, stretches of state road and bike paths.

From Castiglione del Lago follow the southern shore between countryside, reed beds and views of the water, passing by Sant’Arcangelo and the Oasis La Valle. The route continues towards San Feliciano, Monte del Lago and Passignano sul Trasimeno, where you can stop at Trattoria del Pescatore.

The last part crosses Tuoro and Campo del Sole, then follows the northern and western shores until returning to Castiglione del Lago. A complete tour of nature, villages and local traditions.

Sant'Arcangelo

The pier of Sant’Arcangelo is one of the most suggestive points of Lake Trasimeno, much visited for the view of the Polvese Island and for the sunsets that color the water with golden and pink reflections. Its history is linked to the origins of the village: Sant’Arcangelo was once a small fishing settlement, born around an ancient wharf and an inn frequented by travelers and adventurers. Even today the pier preserves this link with the life of the lake, between tradition, fishing and authentic landscapes.

Lake Trasimeno (Pass by)

Lake Trasimeno, located in Umbria in the province of Perugia, is the largest lake in central Italy. Of tectonic and laminar origin, it is characterized by very shallow waters (max 6 meters) and the absence of natural emissaries. It is home to three islands: Polvese, Maggiore and Minore Its banks were the scene of the famous Battle of Trasimeno (217 BC.C.), where Hannibal annihilated the Roman legions. The area is dotted with medieval villages and castles, such as Castiglione del Lago and Passignano, also linked to the legend of Prince Trasimeno and the nymph Agilla

Castiglione del Lago (Pass by)

Castiglione del Lago is one of the most picturesque villages overlooking Lake Trasimeno. Of Etruscan and Roman origin, in the Middle Ages it became an important fortified centre thanks to its strategic position. The historic center preserves the Rocca del Leone and the Palazzo della Corgna, built in the sixteenth century by the homonymous family. From the walls you can admire beautiful views of the lake and the Umbrian hills.

San Savino (Pass by)

San Savino is a small fortified village overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Trasimeno. Its origins date back to 1006, when Count Pietro Attone founded a monastery dedicated to the saint on the hill. The center still preserves the medieval city walls, the ancient ogival gate and the characteristic triangular keep, from which opens a splendid view of the lake and the Umbrian countryside.

Monte del Lago (Pass by)

Monte del Lago is a small medieval village perched on a promontory overlooking Lake Trasimeno. Its origins date back to at least the tenth century and in the fourteenth century it was fortified by the Municipality of Perugia. Among stone alleys, ancient walls and the church of Sant’Andrea, it preserves a cosy and suggestive atmosphere, also linked to the poet Vittoria Aganoor.

Passignano Sul Trasimeno

Welcome to Passignano. About 100 meters from you, under the castle, is the historic Trattoria del Pescatore, housed in the ancient Capuchin oil mill. For over fifty years the family has been offering dishes from the lake and land, welcoming guests with the same cordiality once reserved for fishermen in the country.
