At the start of the sightseeing tour, you will be given 500 ml of mineral water
The excursion will begin with pick-up from your hotel in the city of Puno between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM to head to the main cruise port of Lake Titicaca. After boarding the boat, we will listen to Andean or native Puno music performed by indigenous musicians. Then, we will sail to the houseboats on the lake, where we will take a guided visit to learn about the way of life of their inhabitants, the techniques for building their houseboats with totora, and the customs that have allowed this community to preserve its identity over the years. We will then continue the journey to Amantani Island, enjoying spectacular views of Lake Titicaca and the surrounding Andean landscape during the crossing. Upon arrival, a local family will welcome us and we'll share a traditional lunch prepared with local produce. In the afternoon, we'll go for a hike along the island's trails, passing through fields of crops, agricultural terraces, and natural vantage points such as the energetic mountain called Pachamama, from which there are magnificent panoramic views of the lake. During the tour, we'll be able to observe the daily life of the villagers, learn about their traditions, and, depending on the season, see some bird species that are characteristic of the Titicaca ecosystem. At the end of the day, we'll share dinner with the host family and enjoy a night's rest in a quiet and cozy environment. We'll spend the night there. After enjoying a traditional breakfast with the host family, we'll say goodbye to the community to continue our journey to Taquile Island. During the journey, we can continue to admire the breathtaking landscapes with sweeping views offered by Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival on the island, we'll start a hike along its ancient stone paths, exploring some of its most iconic areas and enjoying privileged views of the lake. We'll learn about the renowned textile tradition of Taquile, declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as well as its customs, communal organization, and way of life. We'll have time to visit the community's craft spaces and appreciate the work done by the local villagers. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a typical lunch before beginning the return trip to the city of Puno.
