This approximately 3-hour trekking excursion (medium/high level) starts in Llano del Jable and ends in Las Manchas. We'll set off, always accompanied by licensed guides, on the trail that has been created specifically to reach the vantage point overlooking the crater of the new Tajogaite Volcano.
Until now, we could only admire this natural phenomenon from about 300 meters away. Now, with this new 360º sightseeing tour that opens three years after the eruption on the island, we will walk on ash and lapilli from the northern area of the volcano to the southern area.
We'll have unique views as we progress along the path, appreciate the change that the area around the volcano has undergone, and get closer to the crater. An impressive sight that is sure to impress.
Along the way, we will see various control and measurement instruments that are still used today to study the eruption process. We will be amazed to see fig and chestnut trees sprouting on the edges of the volcano and how the Canary Island pine, once again, wins the battle against catastrophes.
In the final part, we'll arrive at Las Manchas, the birthplace of the volcano and one of the places most affected by this phenomenon in September 2021.
