Kyoto Shodo (Calligraphy) Experience Learn the basics of Japanese calligraphy, create your own scroll work, and enjoy matcha with wagashi. Guests practicing Japanese calligraphy in Kyoto Morning & afternoon sessions available. All materials provided. Overview Experience the elegance of Shodo in Kyoto. Learn proper posture, brush handling, and basic strokes from an instructor, then compose a meaningful character and mount it on a small hanging scroll (kakejiku). After the lesson, relax with matcha and a seasonal wagashi.
