She was favored by “Taira no Kiyomori”, former Shogun in the Heian Period. 3. “Taira no Kiyomori” and “Butsugozen” “Taira no Kiyomori” (1118-1181) was shogun at that time. He loved “Giou” very much at first. But he moved his heart to another woman, “Butsugozen” “Giou” was driven away by him “Giou” finally became a nun with his sister and his mother and lived here in her rest life. 4.Tale of the Heike It was a tragic love story . The book Heike-Monogatari tells the tragic story of the dancer. 5.moss garden This temple has a beautiful moss garden spreading out in the temple, and the harmony of its serenity and greenery deeply impresses visitors.

In 1994, it was registered as a World Heritage Site along with Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkaku-ji, To-ji, and Nijo Castle. First, there is the world-famous Sogenchi Garden. It is a stroll-style garden with a pond at the center, and it is also a borrowed scenery garden incorporating Arashiyama. These mountains spread out at the back of the garden. The garden was created about 700 years ago. It was created by the founder, Muso Kokushi, and it still retains its original appearance today. Furthermore, the garden is the first nationally designated historic site and special place of scenic beauty. It is like a national treasure of scenery, and there are only 36 of them in the country.
