Kimono & Matcha Experience in Kyoto
Our English homepage: https://mk-mimosa-kyoto.com/en/
Begin your Kyoto experience just one minute from Kyoto Station at MK Kimono Rental Miyako Miyabi. Everything you need is included: a kimono (or yukata in summer), an obi belt, socks, shoes, a bag, and innerwear. In winter, men are also provided with a haori jacket.
Choose your favorite kimono, yukata, and obi to create your own coordination. A professional dresser will dress you, so you don’t need to do anything. Hair styling is also available upon request for an additional fee. Free luggage storage is available.
After getting dressed, take a private taxi to Ichinenzaka 362 Café, near Kodaiji Temple. The ride is quick and convenient.
Inside a tatami room in a renovated traditional townhouse, the host will give a brief introduction to the history of matcha. You will then watch a short tea demonstration, followed by step-by-step guidance, so you can whisk your own matcha and enjoy it.
Please also enjoy two types of Japanese sweets.
English-speaking staff will support you throughout the experience, making it easy even for first-time visitors.
After the tea experience, stroll through the streets near Kiyomizu-dera in your kimono and take photos among Kyoto’s traditional shops and wooden houses.
You can return your kimono at the same location as the tea experience, or go back to Kyoto Station to change (transportation not included).
