Learn how to make hand-rolled sushi from a seasoned chef and culinary researcher, and make sushi together with you and your loved ones. Have you ever had maki-zushi? Maki-zushi is a traditional Japanese home-style sushi, often enjoyed by families as they gather and have fun choosing their favorite ingredients together. Rice and ingredients are placed on a sheet of nori (dried seaweed) and rolled using a special bamboo mat. Join us to learn how to make maki-zushi and authentic miso soup in a warm and relaxed setting. After making the maki-zushi together, we will then surround a table in the beautiful machiya and enjoy the meal together. After your meal, we welcome you to explore our machiya (traditional wooden townhouse) that is nationally registered as an Important Cultural Property. It has a rich history that our knowledgeable staff are excited to share with you. - The minimum number of participants are two, and the maximum are six. - Your dedicated staff are experts in variety of arts ranging from tea ceremony to calligraphy, but not all of them are fluent in English. We will do best to provide you with an intepreter, but please note that a translation device may be used.
