Step 1: Choose Your Kimono
Select from our collection of over 700 options, including styles for men, children, and elegant fusion-style lace kimonos. We take pride in being a plus-size friendly shop, offering a wide range of designs for all body types so everyone feels confident. Our professional dressers provide seamless assistance and complimentary socks for your comfort.
Step 2: Explore Kyoto
Once dressed, wander through Kyoto's most photogenic districts at your own pace. We are located near Kiyomizudera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the historic streets of Gion. Traditional tea houses, Yasaka Shrine, and the hidden lane of Ishibei Koji are all within walking distance.
Step 3: Professional Photoshoot (Optional)
Capture your memories with photographers who know the quieter corners around Kiyomizudera and Gion. Choose from packages offering up to 180 raw photos and 18 professionally edited images. Whether you prefer candid moments or posed elegance, we will make your trip memorable.
Please note: the photoshoot service requires advance booking, and requests made less than 24 hours ahead cannot be guaranteed. If no photographer is available, you will receive a full refund. If you prefer, you may instead choose an alternative shooting time. Please keep your phone available so we can reach you.
Step 4: Complete Your Look with Hairstyling
Add the finishing touch with our on-site hairstyling. Choose from intricate updos or braids, paired with hair accessories to match your chosen kimono.
Immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of Kyoto with our kimono rental and photoshoot services.
FAQ
Q: Do you offer plus-size kimonos?
A: Yes. We are one of the few shops in Kyoto with a dedicated plus-size collection, because we believe everyone should be able to experience the beauty of a kimono whatever their size. Please consult our staff when you arrive.
Q: Do I need to make a reservation?
A: We strongly recommend booking in advance, especially during cherry blossom and autumn leaf season, to guarantee your preferred style and size.
Q: What is the kimono return policy?
A: Standard return is by 5:30 PM. Free next-day return is available if you confirm this with staff before you leave the store. Without that arrangement, late returns are charged JPY 1,100 per person for every 10 minutes after 5:30 PM.
Q: How long is the dressing process?
A: Dressing takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please allow at least 2 hours in total for dressing and exploring the nearby streets.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Free baggage storage is provided. We recommend wearing a simple, close-fitting outfit underneath.
Q: Who can book the photo service?
A: Photoshoot packages are offered only to our kimono rental clients with a confirmed booking.
Q: Are there any restrictions?
A: For safety reasons, kimono dressing is not available during pregnancy. Damage or heavy staining may incur a repair fee.
