Begin your tour with a pickup from your accommodation in Kyoto.
Take a bus or train to the first cat spot, Umenomiya-taisha Shrine, also known as “Neko (cats) Jinja Shrine.” See the many cats in its precincts and shrine garden. It is also famous as a shrine for the god of sake brewing and the god of conception and safe childbirth. There are also many beautiful Ume trees, cherry blossoms and maple trees in the Japanese traditional garden. Take photos of the cats relaxing around the shrine.
On the way to next spot, there is a cat cafe, where we could meet 3 cute cats in the shop.
If you would like the coffee/lunch break here, we could go there as an option.
Next, take a bus to the second cat spot, Fukujyusan Inabado Byodo-ji Temple, in the middle of Central Kyoto. This temple has a history of over 1,000 years. Omamori for cancer-fighting, bad luck prevention, and illness prevention are available. Enjoy cat-themed goods such as cat charms, wallets, and postcards. You can also write an ema (prayer plaque) for you and for your pet too.
