Your adventure begins at 8:30 AM, when guests are picked up from Kuching and transferred to Bako Jetty. From here, enjoy a scenic one hour drive through countryside landscapes to a riverside village. The excitement builds as you board a small boat and travel upstream, cutting through mangrove channels and open waters. The daring approach to Bako National Park HQ sets the tone for the journey, with striking rock formations rising dramatically from the sea to welcome you.

Upon arrival, the park reveals its extraordinary biodiversity. Guests will encounter wildlife thriving in this dynamic ecosystem: playful long tailed macaques, shy yet enchanting silver leaf monkeys, and the iconic proboscis monkeys, with around 275 individuals inhabiting the area. These fascinating creatures are often spotted swinging gracefully through the canopy or lounging lazily in the mangroves.

Other notable residents include the bearded wild boar, the park’s largest mammal, and elusive species such as flying squirrels, flying lemurs, otters, tarsiers, and slow lorises. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the variety of resident and migratory species, from kingfishers to hornbills, adding vibrant color and song to the jungle. Guided by our experienced park ranger, you’ll even learn to spot the Green-pit viper, camouflaged among leaves, a thrilling highlight for nature lovers.

As you trek along jungle trails, the park’s true colors emerge a captivating blend of dense rainforest, mangrove swamps, and seaside cliffs. Every turn offers a new perspective, from towering trees to coastal vistas where jungle meets ocean. After a rewarding hike, guests return by boat to the jetty, where our driver awaits to transfer you to Permai Rainforest Resort. Here, you’ll check into your designated room and unwind amidst the tranquil rainforest setting.

The following morning, after a hearty breakfast, guests have time to relax and explore the rainforest. Several organized trails are available, with options for shorter treks leading to a refreshing waterfall. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature, this experience offers a peaceful contrast to the previous day’s adventure. After the hike, guests can freshen up and check out by 11:00 AM. Our driver will then transfer you comfortably back to Kuching city, bringing your 2D1N journey to a close.
