What you can expect
The crossing from Kefalonia to Zakynthos is unlike any other journey in the Ionian Sea. From the strait between the two islands, the view opens in every direction — the green mountains of Kefalonia behind you, the low shores of Zakynthos ahead, and to the west, hundreds of kilometres of open Mediterranean with nothing between you and the horizon — the sea at its most vast and free. Here, the air itself is different. It has traveled across open sea from the west without touching land, arriving pure and salt-heavy, filling your lungs with something that no city, no beach resort, no crowded coastline can offer. This is not just a transfer to a famous island. It is a sea journey through some of the most beautiful waters in Greece — with Navagio Shipwreck Beach, the Blue Caves, and the authentic coastline of Zakynthos waiting at the other side.
Your journey begins at Skala Beach, where the boat departs directly from a private floating dock. No buses, no port transfers, no wasted time. Within minutes of leaving shore, the Ionian Sea opens ahead of you and the crossing begins — through waters that have been sailed for thousands of years, between islands Homer named as the kingdom of Odysseus.
The first stop is Navagio — the famous Shipwreck Beach, one of the most photographed places, framed by towering white cliffs and the deep blue of the Ionian Sea. A view that stays with you long after you have left.
From Navagio, the cruise continues to Agios Andreas Beach — a beautiful, unspoiled spot where the water is exceptionally clear. A perfect place to swim, relax, and take in the natural beauty of Zakynthos away from the tourist crowds.
Next comes the Blue Caves — one of Zakynthos' most remarkable natural wonders, where the light filters through the rock and turns the water an extraordinary shade of blue. Swim in the glowing water, snorkel, and take in the unique atmosphere of this extraordinary place.
The final stop brings you to Agios Nikolaos — a small coastal village with a relaxed, genuine atmosphere. Stroll along the waterfront, try a local tavern, browse the small shops, or simply sit and enjoy the pace of a place that has not lost its character. Depending on sea and harbor conditions, the boat anchors here or at a nearby peaceful cove — always in beautiful, sheltered waters.
The return journey north offers its own quiet discovery. As the boat heads back toward Kefalonia, Mount Ainos — the tallest peak in all the Ionian islands — appears ahead on the horizon. At first it shows its familiar long profile, but gradually, as the angle shifts and the distance closes, it transforms into something unexpected — a pyramid rising from the Ionian Sea, ancient and perfectly formed. The same mountain, seen in a completely different way.
By the time Skala Beach appears ahead, there is that quiet feeling of a day well spent — swimming, sailing, discovering, arriving somewhere new and returning home richer for it. A crossing that became something more.
