• You’ll be picked up from your hotel or meeting point and taken to the modern city of Argostoli - the first stop on your itinerary. This port town is the island’s commercial and administrative centre and features beautiful neo-classical buildings. Here you can stroll the promenade overlooking the water and soak up the atmosphere of this lively town.
• Next, you will explore the monastery named in honour of the patron saint of the island - St. Gerasimos Monastery - a beloved and treasured place for the locals. The most majestic monastery on the island features a splendid bell tower and displays the patron Saint’s relics. Ensure you have dressed appropriately for this stop - knees and shoulders covered.
• You will then head to the Orealios Gaea Winery to taste some delicious local Greek wines at one of the finest producers on the island. Here you can taste the Robola which is specific to this area - the Robola Valley.
• After a wonderful wine-tasting experience, the next stop is the spectacular Drogorati Cave where you can marvel at the impressive stalactites and stalagmites in this 100 million-year-old cave.
• Next will be a stop at the breathtaking Antisamos Beach*. This Blue Flag beach was made famous by the movie ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’ and will delight visitors with its turquoise waters, pebbly white sands and the lush pine trees surrounding the shore.
• Afterwards, we will then take a rowing boat out to visit the spectacular Melissani Lake which is hidden inside the Melissani Cave. This incredible underground lake is a fantastic sight to see and you’ll be blown away by the natural beauty here.
• Next is the picturesque fishing village of Agia Efimia. This once-quiet fishing town now attracts yachts and tourists looking to admire the beautiful sea views from one of the many traditional Greek tavernas on the waterfront.
• Finally, the last stop on the tour is the stunning Myrtos Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Don’t forget to snap plenty of pictures of the breathtaking scenery!
• If you have chosen to visit the traditional village of Assos* over Antisamos Beach, this will be the last stop of the tour before you had back to your resort.
