Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Tbilisi early in the morning to begin the journey to Kazbegi.
• After 1 hour of driving, arrive at Zhinvali Reservoir, an artificial water reservoir on the Aragvi River, a perfect spot for landscape photography. You will spend about 15 minutes here.
• 15 minutes later, reach Ananuri Fortress, a historic complex with two churches and a 16th-century defensive tower. Located on the shores of Zhinvali Reservoir, it offers excellent mountain views and turquoise waters. The fortress was once the seat of the eristavis (dukes) of Aragvi. You will spend approximately 30 minutes exploring.
• After 50 minutes of driving, arrive at the Gudauri Friendship Monument, also known as the Georgian-Russian Friendship Monument. This circular viewpoint hangs over a 600-meter cliff, offering panoramic views of the Caucasus Mountains. You will stay here for about 35 minutes.
• After 40 minutes of driving, reach the Gergeti Trinity Church, a 14th-century cross-domed church at 2,170 meters under Mount Kazbek (5,047 m). Its isolated location atop a steep mountain surrounded by vast natural landscapes has made it an iconic symbol of Georgia. You will spend around 35 minutes at this site.
The tour concludes with a return drive to your hotel in Tbilisi.
