What you can expect
The Everest View Trek is a 5-day journey from Kathmandu into the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is a good choice for travellers who want to experience the Everest region, visit traditional Sherpa villages and enjoy views of Mount Everest without trekking all the way to Everest Base Camp.
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River through pine forests, suspension bridges and mountain villages before reaching Namche Bazaar, the main trading town of the Khumbu region. You will spend two nights in Namche, with a full day to explore the surrounding area and allow your body to adjust to the altitude.
The acclimatisation walk takes you towards Syangboche Airstrip and the Everest View Hotel viewpoint, at around 3,880 metres. On a clear day, you can see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and other Himalayan peaks.
Continue to Khumjung Village, where you can visit Khumjung Monastery, known for its famous Yeti scalp relic, and Hillary School. You can also explore traditional Sherpa settlements and yak-grazing areas before returning to Namche Bazaar.
The package includes round-trip domestic flights to Lukla, four nights of shared teahouse accommodation, meals during the trek, trekking permits and a licensed English-speaking local Sherpa guide. Guide salary, meals and accommodation are also included.
Flight arrangements and transfers
During peak trekking seasons, Lukla flights may operate from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu.
When flights operate from Manthali, the included shared bus departs from the Garden of Dreams area in Kathmandu at 12:30 am. The road journey takes approximately 4–4.5 hours, with arrival around 5:00 am. You will wait at the airport for your flight boarding time.
After landing in Lukla, your trekking guide will meet you at the airport. Breakfast is included before you start the trek.
On the return journey, if your flight operates through Manthali, the included shared bus takes you back to the same Garden of Dreams drop-off point in Kathmandu. A private vehicle between Kathmandu and Manthali can be arranged at an additional cost.
Round-trip transfers between Tribhuvan International Airport and your hotel in Kathmandu are included by private vehicle. These are separate from the longer Kathmandu–Manthali road transfers.
Porter service is not included but can be arranged separately if required. Personal trekking equipment, travel insurance, drinks, snacks and personal expenses are also not included.
The trek reaches approximately 3,880 metres. You should be comfortable walking for several hours on mountain trails and be prepared for changing mountain weather.
Lukla flights depend on weather and airline operations. We recommend keeping one or two extra days in Kathmandu after the trek because flight delays or cancellations can affect your return schedule.
