This tour is a perfect bridge between the cultural capital of Kandy and the high-altitude landscapes of the hill country. Since there is currently no direct train service between Nanu Oya and Ella, this car tour ensures you don't miss any highlights before catching the scenic train from Ambewela.
The main thing you need to know is that the train from Ambewela to Ella leaves at 1.30pm on some days and at 3.00pm on other days, so keep in mind that the places we visit on the trip will change to suit those times. Also, you should start this journey early in the morning.

The tour concludes with a drop-off at the Ambewela Railway Station, the highest station in Sri Lanka. From here, you can board the train for the most scenic part of the journey to Ella, passing over the Nine Arch Bridge and through dense highland forests.
