Gambaran keseluruhan

  • Follow the story of the Death Railway through its history, surviving landmarks and an actual journey along the route.

Begin with the War Cemetery and Thailand–Burma Railway Centre, where your private guide provides the background needed to understand the people, events and human cost behind the railway. Continue to the River Kwai Bridge before boarding a local train for the most memorable part of the day: traveling through the Kanchanaburi countryside and along the wooden trestle beside the River Kwai Noi.

At Tham Krasae, explore the historic railway section, enjoy views across the river and visit the peaceful cave shrine beside the tracks. With private transportation and a flexible pace, there is time to ask questions, take photographs and experience each location without being rushed through a large-group itinerary.

Jadual perjalanan aktiviti

Kanchanaburi Province (Sambil lalu)

Travel through the countryside of Kanchanaburi, passing farmland, local communities and river landscapes on the way to the province’s important wartime sites. During the journey, your guide will introduce the history of the region and explain how the day’s locations connect to the story of the Thailand–Burma Railway.

Kanchanaburi War Cemetery

  • 15m
A respectful visit to the beautifully maintained Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, the resting place of Allied prisoners of war who lost their lives during the construction of the Thailand–Burma Railway. Your guide will provide the historical background needed to understand the human cost of the railway before you continue to the museum and surviving railway sites.

The Thailand-Burma Railway Centre

  • 45m
  • Termasuk tiket masuk
Explore an informative museum that explains the planning, construction and wartime history of the Thailand–Burma Railway. Through maps, photographs, personal accounts and historical displays, learn about the prisoners of war and Asian laborers who endured extremely difficult conditions while building the route. This visit provides important context for everything you will see later in the day.

RIVER KWAI BRIDGE

  • 15m
Walk across the famous River Kwai Bridge, one of Kanchanaburi’s best-known landmarks and a surviving section of the historic railway. Take time to enjoy views along the river, photograph the bridge and hear how the original railway crossing became internationally associated with the story of the Death Railway.

Tham Krasae Death Railway Bridge (Sambil lalu)

Board a local train and travel along a surviving section of the historic Death Railway through the countryside of Kanchanaburi. Watch rural communities, farmland and forested hills pass outside the window before the train approaches the dramatic wooden trestle beside the River Kwai Noi. The journey allows you to experience the railway itself rather than only visiting it from the ground.

Tham Krasae Death Railway Bridge

  • 30m
After leaving the train, walk along the historic wooden railway trestle built against a steep limestone cliff above the River Kwai Noi. Enjoy one of the most scenic views on the route, explore the small Tham Krasae cave containing a peaceful Buddha shrine and learn why this narrow section was especially challenging to construct. The pace can be adjusted so guests have enough time for photographs and can walk only as far along the railway as they feel comfortable.
