Relive the story of war and the forced occupation of prisoners of war in Kanchanaburi with a day tour that takes you back to the tragic history of World War II along the historic Death Railway, and to witness the forced treatment and torture of prisoners of war.
Beginning your historical journey at the Death Railway War Cemetery and Museum, learn about the hardships and watch videos of what prisoners of war endured during World War II, and then proceed to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Before taking a short train ride along the Death Railway through lush forests, steep cliffs, and wooden bridges built into the hillside for trains to pass near Tham Krasae, a resting and healing point for wounded and sick soldiers. Afterwards, enjoy an international buffet lunch, and then head to Hellfire Pass, one of the most powerful historical sites in Thailand, built during World War II using forced labor from hundreds of thousands of prisoners of war and Asian civilians.

It is part of the famous Thailand–Burma Railway (Death Railway) built during World War II using forced labor from Allied prisoners of war and Asian civilians. The name “Hellfire Pass” came from the haunting scene during construction, when prisoners worked day and night cutting through solid mountain rock by hand under torchlight, creating a fire-like glow that resembled the gates of hell.
