Perkara yang anda boleh jangka
Experience a quieter and more atmospheric side of Kanazawa after dark on a guided walk through gas-lit Higashi Chaya, riverside Kazuemachi, illuminated bridges, and narrow historic alleys.
Meet your guide near Hashiba-cho and begin in Higashi Chaya, Kanazawa’s most famous traditional teahouse district.
After the daytime crowds begin to fade, wooden chaya houses, lattice windows, stone streets, and softly glowing gas lamps create a completely different atmosphere.
Walk through the main historic streets before entering smaller lanes where traditional wooden architecture and discreet entrances preserve the character of old Kanazawa.
Learn about geiko culture, historic teahouses, local traditions, and the role these districts played in Kanazawa’s cultural life.
Then continue toward the Asano River.
Step out from the narrow teahouse streets into an open riverside landscape, where illuminated bridges, reflections on the water, and historic buildings create a peaceful nighttime scene.
Cross the river toward Kazuemachi Chaya District, a smaller and more intimate historic district lining the waterfront.
Walk through narrow lanes of wooden townhouses and traditional lattice façades while experiencing a quieter atmosphere than the larger Higashi Chaya district.
Explore Kuragari-zaka, the atmospheric “Dark Slope,” where stone steps and narrow passages lead between Kazuemachi and the surrounding historic streets.
Depending on the route, also discover Akari-zaka, the “Slope of Light,” and selected viewpoints around Naka-no-hashi and Asanogawa Ohashi bridges.
The contrast is the heart of the experience: gas-lit teahouse streets, quiet wooden alleys, illuminated bridges, river reflections, and the intimate nighttime atmosphere of old Kanazawa.
Your guide will share local stories and point out architectural details and scenic viewpoints that can be easy to miss when exploring independently.
Your guide can also help take natural travel photos using your own smartphone or camera, but photography is a supporting part of the experience rather than the main focus.
This is an outdoor cultural walking tour. Entry to teahouses, museums, restaurants, and other paid facilities is not included.
The exact route may be adjusted depending on weather, events, lighting conditions, local access, and the operation of nearby businesses.
