Leave the city traffic behind and head into August Town, where Judgement Yard sits in a green valley beside a river bed. This is the home of Sizzla Kalonji, one of the greatest reggae artists of all time, and a living community with a rich history and strong musical ties.
Your guide picks you up in New Kingston, Half Way Tree, Papine or central Kingston and drives you to the Yard by car. Pickup takes up to 20 minutes each way.
At the Yard, your guide walks you through the grounds and tells the history and heritage of this place. Learn about Rastafari from the community that lives it, see the constant construction and development that keeps the Yard growing, and take photos in front of the King Tafari Sound System.
Cool off with a swim in the natural pool, surrounded by lush trees and plants. Then slow down and spend time hanging out and socializing with the residents. Join in craft-making and daily life in the community, and take in the vibes, culture and sense of community that guests talk about.
Food and drinks are available to buy at the Yard.
