Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa’s fourth largest game park, is situated in a crater in the Bojanala Region of the North West Province. This crater is the product of a volcano that erupted many millions of years ago, and has evolved to become one of the most fascinating landscapes for you to visit.
Pilanesberg offers over 200 kilometers of roads for guided or self-drive game viewing. Throughout your tour you will enjoy an extensive game drive, conducted by an experienced and knowledgeable tour guide who will answer all your questions about the fascinating wildlife and environment.
Day 1:
05:30 – 06:30 Pickup from your Johannesburg hotel/guesthouse or OR Tambo Airport in luxury air-conditioned vehicle (one comfort stop en route).
09:00 Arrival at Pilanesberg and straight into a mid-morning open-vehicle game drive in MoAfrika’s superior open safari vehicles with our expert ranger and radio-linked tracking for the best Big Five sightings.
12:00 Lunch at a scenic rest camp inside the park (Pilanesberg Centre, Bakgatla or similar).
13:00 – 15:00 Afternoon open-vehicle game drive (±3 hours).
16:00 Check-in at Tlou Tented Safari Camp (only 4 km from the park gate). Relax, freshen up and enjoy the campfire in the boma.
Evening Traditional African dinner served at the camp.
Day 2:
Sunrise: Leave camp at 05:30 for an open vehicle safari game drive from 06:00 to 09:00.
09:30 Arrive back at camp for breakfast and the morning at your leisure.
13:00 Enjoy a light lunch at the camp
15:30 Leave camp for your second game drive of the day, from 16:00 to 19:00.
19:30 Return to camp to freshen up.
Evening Enjoy a delicious dinner after an exciting day, at 20:00.
Day 3:
Morning: Full breakfast at Tlou Tented Safari Camp. Pack bags after breakfast (luggage will be loaded) and check out.
09:00 – 15:00 Full-day open-vehicle safari (±6 hours) – explore different areas of the park with mid-morning coffee stop + picnic lunch inside the reserve.
15:00 Exit the park and depart for Johannesburg (one quick comfort stop en route).
17:30 – 18:00 Drop-off at your Johannesburg hotel, guesthouse or
OR Tambo International Airport (flight-friendly timing – please advise if you need an earlier airport arrival).
