Less than three hours from Medellin, the town of Jardin feels like a different world entirely. On this full-day tour, you will travel through the rolling green landscapes of southwest Antioquia, stopping in three of the region's most charming towns before arriving at one of Colombia's most beautiful pueblos.
The route begins with a stop in Hispania, a quiet and unhurried town where the pace of life slows down and the warmth of the locals sets the tone for the day. From there, the tour continues to Andes, a lively coffee-producing town with a vibrant central plaza and deep-rooted traditions that your guide will bring to life with stories of the region's history and culture.
The main destination is Jardin, a colonial town founded in 1863 and one of the most visually striking pueblos in all of Colombia. Flower-adorned balconies, colorful facades, and cobblestone streets frame the majestic Basilica de la Inmaculada Concepcion, a neo-Gothic landmark with an intricately carved stone facade that anchors the central plaza. From the surrounding viewpoints, the coffee-covered hillsides stretch out in every direction.
The afternoon is designed to be savored. A local restaurant serves a traditional Antioquian lunch, followed by a stop at Cafe Macanas for a cup of coffee grown and roasted in the region. The day ends with a visit to the Casa de los Dulces, where arroz con leche, the town's signature dessert, is the perfect final note before heading back to Medellin.
Return to Medellin around 8:00 pm.
