Overview

This is a local tour from Tondabayashi in South Osaka to Taishi-cho. Terauchi-machi in Tondabayashi is an old town from the Edo period, and the Sugiyama House in particular has been designated as a cultural asset. After sightseeing the streets, participants will take part in a workshop to make red seal booklets. A red seal book is a certificate with a seal issued by a temple or shrine as a proof of visit to the temple or shrine. After completing the red seal book, we will have an early lunch at an old house in Terauchi-machi and then head to Eifukuji Temple. Eifukuji Temple is a historic temple said to have been built by Emperor Suiko to honor Prince Shotoku. After completing the tour of Eifukuji Temple and getting a mark in the red seal book, we will return to Kishi Station. Unlike tours in Osaka City and Kyoto City, you will enjoy a tour of southern Osaka where time passes more slowly.

The temple was built by Emperor Suiko to guard the tomb of Prince Shotoku. During the Warring States period, the temple was destroyed by fire from Oda Nobunaga's war, but during the Edo period, the Seireiden was rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyori and the temple was gradually restored. october - december, march - april The Picture Biography of Prince Shotoku is exhibiting autumn and winter scenes from the 5th to 8th scrolls. The life of Prince Shotoku is depicted in each season. The 5th, 6th, and 7th scrolls are from the Nanboku-cho period, and the 8th scroll is from the Edo period.
