After getting ready at the dive center and an introductory briefing, we will board a 7.50-meter inflatable boat for a ride of about 15 minutes along the coast.
We will head along the coast towards the Green Grotto and the Magician's Grotto, where we will begin our activity. The caves are famous for their natural environments and the way the light plays, the reflections on the water, and the seabed teeming with life. Together, we will be able to observe fish, algae, and the unique features that distinguish the cave's underwater environment.
In the event of inclement weather conditions on that side of the island, we will head towards the Grotta dell'Amore, which is very similar in beauty to the Grotta del Mago and is named for its distinctive shape.
We will then continue to the Cartaromana area, near the Aragonese Castle, where we can admire the remains of a submerged archeological site. In fact, in the Carta Romana area, there are submerged wall sections and an ancient room carved into the rock called the Nymphaeum.
In the waters surrounding the castle, within a few centimeters, we will be able to observe the natural phenomenon of CO2 gas emissions, small bubbles that rise to the surface through the ground and are linked to the volcanic origin of Ischia, but are extremely important for the study of ocean acidification.
At the end of the tour, we will return to the diving center, where a shower is available.
