Begin your experience with a transfer from the agreed-upon point in Iquitos to the town of Nauta, the gateway to one of the most extraordinary wilderness areas in the Peruvian Amazon.
From Nauta, continue by boat along the Marañón River to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the largest national reserve in Peru. During the boat trip, you'll start to discover the Amazonian landscape and the great diversity of birds and wildlife that inhabit this area.
When you arrive at the PV1 checkpoint, you'll check in and learn about the main conservation rules of this protected natural area. From this point, your experience inside Pacaya Samiria begins.
Navigate its rivers and floodplain forests as your guide helps you identify the wildlife that appears along the way. Pink and gray dolphins are common in these waters, and you'll also see different species of monkeys, Amazonian birds, reptiles, and other animals native to the reserve.
During the day, you'll go on nature observation tours and get an up-close look at an ecosystem where local communities and biodiversity coexist within a protected area of enormous importance for the Peruvian Amazon.
Each tour is different: nature is unpredictable and can surprise you with encounters that aren't part of any itinerary. Wildlife watching is carried out with respect for their habitat and without disturbing their natural behavior.
At the end of the experience, we'll start the return trip by boat to Nauta and then the transfer by land to Iquitos.
