If there is one hike that defines Interlaken, it is the climb to Harder Kulm — the famous viewpoint high above the town. Starting directly in Interlaken, we leave the streets behind within minutes and enter quiet forest trails, gaining elevation step by step on a real mountain path. The hike covers around 8 km, depending on the selected route and descent option

The trail climbs steadily through steep woodland terrain, with a few flatter sections along the way. About halfway up, we pass a small farmhouse with a fountain — a perfect place to refill water and take a short break before continuing the ascent.

Higher up, the forest begins to open and the first views appear between the trees. Soon we reach Harder Kulm (1321 m), where spectacular panoramas open over the entire town, both Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the Jungfrau region, including sight to the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. During the operating season, there is also a restaurant at the summit — a great place to relax and take in the scenery.

Harder Kulm offers excellent flexibility, with several trail options for both ascent and descent. Depending on your pace, fitness level, weather, and how adventurous you want the experience to be, we can choose routes ranging from steeper to more moderate. If preferred, the historic Harderbahn funicular can also be used for the return when in operation.

This is not a standardized tourism activity, but a real private mountain experience tailored to you, your pace, your goals, and the conditions on the day. Instead of following a fixed script, the hike remains flexible throughout and adapts naturally to the mountain and your preferences.
