Day 1: Cusco - Km 104 - Sun Gate - Aguas Calientes

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco and transfer by van to the Ollantaytambo train station. Board a train to Km 104 (Chachabamba), the starting point of your hike.

Begin your trek with a visit to the archaeological site of Chachabamba. Continue with a moderate ascent of 3 to 4 hours to the impressive Wiñay Wayna complex, where you will have a packed lunch.

Hike through a section of high jungle towards Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where you will have your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Descend to the citadel for classic photo opportunities.

Finally, take a bus down to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town) for dinner and an overnight stay in a reserved hotel.

Day 2: Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco

Take a bus up to the citadel of Machu Picchu for a guided sightseeing tour. Enjoy free time to explore the site on your own before taking a bus back to the town.

Return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, followed by a van transfer back to Cusco.
