A fantastic itinerary that takes place in the footsteps of the ancient Etruscans over a 2 hour hike. The route will wind through the vie cave that surrounds. Pitigliano. The “vie cave”, or Etruscan cut, are huge canyons, measuring hundreds of meters long that were dug by hand by the Etruscan people to honor their dead. These paths are both rich in meaning and symbolism. The tour will make a ring around the village. At the conclusion of the hike, we might visit a historic winery carved entirely in the tuff (volcanic rock), where you can taste local wines, meats and cheeses all produced in the region.
