What you can expect
Join me for a guided walking tour through the historic streets of Hvar Town, where centuries of history unfold between stone squares, Renaissance palaces, and hidden corners.
Guided by a local winegrower and olive oil producer, we begin in St. Stephen’s Square, the vibrant heart of the town and one of the most beautiful squares in Dalmatia. Here you'll see the impressive Cathedral of St. Stephen, surrounded by elegant stone buildings and lively cafés.
Nearby stands the historic Arsenal, home to the first public theatre in Europe, a remarkable symbol of Hvar’s cultural importance during the Renaissance. Just steps away, the elegant Loggia reflects the island’s rich architectural heritage.
As we continue through the old streets, you'll discover the Benedictine Monastery, part of the UNESCO-protected heritage area, and hear the fascinating story behind the Franciscan Monastery, closely connected to Hvar’s maritime past.
Along the way, I’ll share stories about the island’s history, traditions, and everyday life — the small details that bring Hvar beyond guidebooks.
By the end of the walk, you’ll not only see the town’s most important landmarks but also understand why Hvar has long been an important port and meeting point of cultures in the Adriatic.
