We will meet at our facilities at Caballos Marvão. From here, you will get your horse and instructions to ride. This ride is suitable for anyone with a minimum of good shape!
We will ride following the Sever virgin river bank, surrounded by nothing but the sound of water and birds. We will arrive to the bridge and tower of Portagem, built in 1492. That used to be the ancient border between Spain and Portugal. Here we will leave our horses for a two-minutes transfer and we will visit the ruins of ancient Ammaia, a 2,000 year-old Roman city where an amphitheatre has recently been uncovered. Back to Portagem, we will sit and enjoy a gourmet Alentejan picnic in an old mill, next to a natural swimming pool. Then we will retake our journey following a medieval stone road, first, and then walk trails through the mountains, with amazing views. We will also spot two early Christian tombs carved on the rock.
This activity lasts about 4h30.
